Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1968 Porsche 912 recalls can be found in this database. Additional Description: 1968 Porsche 912 Targa 4 cyl lovingly restored rust free example. This example is a very rare soft window Targa from 1968, rare indeed with less than 100 examples built. Our little beauty is equipped with it's original 5 spoke Fuchs alloys and a numbers matching 4 cylinder Porsche engine which is fully developed as a result of its use for many years in the 356 series until that model was discontinued. Porsche advertised the soft window targa as "four models in one" and production lasted until 1969 when the soft window was replaced with glass. Today the soft window 912 has become quite collectible due to the very limited numbers produced.
