Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1985 Clenet SERIES III ASHA recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional Description: Very rare Clenet Series III Asha representing #22 of just 65 ever manufactured! Superb color combination and loaded with modern power accessories, soft Connolly leather, Wilton carpets, lamb's wool rugs, climate-controlled air conditioning, power steering & disc brakes, and more! Only 14,000 actual miles! A very special opportunity for collectors of modern neo-classics! Beginning in 1975, Clenet Coachworks Inc began in a Santa Barbara, California garage as an idea to produce a vehicle with the classic 1930's appeal, but with building techniques using modern chassis', suspensions, and drivetrains. This dream was lead through founder Alain Clenet's vision and it became quite successful. Early buyers of the Clenet included actors Sylvester Stallone & Farrah Fawcett, Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling, entertainers Wayne Newton, Rod Stewart, and Vince McMahon. For fans of the TV shows Dynasty and Dallas, you were often treated to Clenets driven by the rich and elite! Production totals for each Series were very limited, and expensive! The Series III Asha Convertible listed at $82,500 by the end of production in the late 1980's, exceeding the price of a new Ferrari 328GTS by comparison! We are very excited to offer this 1985 Clenet Series III Asha Convertible finished in two-tone Black and Maroon with gorgeous Dark Red leather interior upholstery! Every new Clenet was distinguished by only the finest of materials to include DuPont enamel paint finishes on an all steel body, English Wilton wool carpeting, Connolly leather interiors, match grained burl walnut dash & trim, lamb's wool floor mats, French leaded crystal accessories, Danish teakwood exterior trim, Kenwood AM/FM Cassette audio systems, Hella fog lamps, and chromed stainless steel 15" wire spoke wheels! Features include 5.0L 302ci V8 engines, 4-speed overdrive automatic transmissions, power disc brakes, power steering, climate-controlled air conditioning, 6-way power seats, cruise control, tilt column, leather-wrapped steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, electronic truck & hood releases, engraved glass on the vent windows, and glove box vanity mirror! These are very exciting cars, and likely one of the most refined of the Clenet Coachwork designs. It has a smaller platform than the Series II giving it a far sportier presentation, with a departure of the rear continental kit, and lowering the faux engine exhaust tubing to underneath the fiberglass fenders. The vehicle name, Asha, was a combination of the Alain Clenet name with his wife, Sharen, and the given name of their daughter. This stunningly well-kept example has only 14,335 miles on the odometer and continues to perform outstandingly! Recent servicing included new 1" radial whitewall tires, fresh engine/oil filter, air filter, and complete air conditioning service in May 2020. The only modification is the professional enhancement of the audio system to include a newer Kenwood Sirius Satellite radio & 12-disc CD changer hidden behind the driver's seat, and an amplifier to power modern Alpine speakers. The audio system is actually very impressive! It represents a very special opportunity to an individual looking for a very unique and modern neo-classic collector car built in very limited quantities! Not only are they uncommon to see at shows, but they rarely come onto the market in this condition! Act quickly, and feel free to call with questions and/or offers.
